§ 5.03. Filing for office.

Any person having the qualifications set forth for councilman in this Charter shall have the right to file an application to have his name placed on the official ballot as a candidate for any elective office. Such application in writing by such candidate and accompanied by his loyalty affidavit as prescribed by the laws of the State of Texas filed with the City Secretary not later than 5:00 p.m. of the 45th day before election day, shall entitle such applicant to a place on the official ballot.
